Nicole Knapp, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Nicole Knapp is a native New Yorker. She earned a BS degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2003 and a DVM degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine, California in 2009. Dr. Knapp specializes in internal medicine and has experience with tigers in zoological medicine in California. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS).
After working in California for three years, Dr. Knapp relocated back to New York where she has been practicing at East Fishkill since 2012. She lives with her husband, her two children, a dachshund and a mixed breed.
William McCord, DVM
Dr. William McCord, earned an AS degree from SUNY at Delhi in 1970, a BS degree from Cornell University in 1972 and a DVM degree from Purdue University in 1978. He is a New York State licensed and accredited veterinarian plus a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS), and the Hudson Valley Veterinary Medical Society (HVVMS).
After practicing for three years in Glen Cove, NY and Danbury, CT, Dr. McCord moved to Hopewell Junction with his wife Anne, who is a Delhi veterinary technician, and their two daughters (Christine and Karen) and founded the East Fishkill Animal Hospital in 1981. His medical strengths are in general diagnostics and surgery. He has trained and provided guidance to other local veterinarians over the years and enjoys sharing his expertise.
Katharine LaVacca, DVM
Dr. Katharine (Katie) LaVacca was born and raised in New York. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Elon University in North Carolina in 2011, she was inducted into the Biological Honor Society (Beta Beta Beta). She earned a DVM degree from Ross University in 2016, and completed her clinical year at the Cornell University Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. LaVacca is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a special interest in both endocrinology and rehabilitation/physical therapy.
